Inside the Mind of A Creative Person

I was thinking about naming this piece “Inside the Mind of This Particular Creative Person,” but with SEO and all that I figured I’d go with the more generic title. That’s one little peek inside my creative process.

Over at Hevria this week, I took a long, long look at all the things that go through my mind when I’m trying to create. The things that work, the things that keep me from realizing my creative potential.

Whenever I start to write a “how-to” piece I immediately start to talk myself out of it because, hey, I hardly feel like an expert. But that right there is part of the process.

You can go check out my Thirteen Steps to being creative, and let me know what you think, what resonates with you, what doesn’t, how you cope (or don’t).

Also, excitingly, last week I had a very reflective and thought-provoking conversation with Tommy and Dan of the Curiosity Hour Podcast (which you should check out). I will let you know when that is live! It was such a honor to talk with them, and the conversation gave me a lot to think about. Some of the things we talked about were my background, my relationship with G-d, why it’s maybe the most important thing in my life but one I rarely discuss, my music, what it’s like to go through a major spiritual evolution, what it was like studying in Israel, and more. What a conversation, right??

So stay tuned for that.

Okay! Have a great day!

  1. I read the post and then the “12 step” program. I laughed all the way through my skimming of the 12 steps. It sounded like it was supposed to be totally “tongue in cheek”. I cannot believe you would do many of those things.
