Mesorah (Jewish stuff)

Join 10,000 People In This Global Learning Campaign!

I love learning, and I love external motivation to learn (I am definitely an Obliger, as per Gretchen Rubin’s fantastic book Better than Before which I have almost finished), so I was extra excited when I was contacted by the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation to promote this historical learning campaign.

This is an area that I love about Judaism. It recognizes the incredible power of our speech, and helps us focus this power into a force for good, and also to protect ourselves from sliding into those oh-so-easy bad habits that can do serious damage.

I don’t know about you (maybe you never struggle in this area!) but the times when I have been more lax about my speech, quicker to complain about or criticize someone else, I have seen immediately the negative effect is has on me, and the negative effect it has on my relationship which the person I’m speaking negatively about.

And those are just the effects I can see with my eyes and feel with my heart and mind. I can’t imagine the kind of spiritual effects it must be having.

SO!

I am ready, more than ready, to start improving my observance of these powerful and critical laws, and I love that it’s packaged into a very manageable portion of one to five minutes a day.

One to five minutes.

That’s less time than it takes to wait in line at the Starbucks Drive-Through.

That’s less time than it takes to fold a load of laundry.

That’s less time than it takes to wait for the oven to preheat.

That’s less time than it takes for some of my kids to get dressed in the morning.

We can do this. Join with me in this worthwhile movement and see the positive impact it has on your life, and know that it’s having a positive impact on the entire world.

You can receive your daily learning via WhatsApp, Email, Text, Phone, or through books that you might already have in your home.

It starts tonight, Sunday February 16th. Sign up at chofetzchaimheritagefoundation.org.

tell me about it!
