Every life is full of difficult moments and less difficult moments. We tend to remember the hard times, the disappointments, the embarrassments. They loom large in our memories.
But when I look back at those hard times, the ones where I cried so hard and thought that things would never get better, that relief would never come, I see something besides the pain.
I see growth.
When I was suffering through hard times, I found I was able to sometimes channel the pain into something constructive. Learning to set boundaries. Developing healthier coping mechanisms (though I still have plenty of unhealthy ones, heh heh heh oyyyy). Becoming a stronger, more resilient version of myself. Learning how to not sweat the small stuff.
I wrote a bunch of pieces, too.
Yeah, a lot of my writing came from places of pain and frustration (but not all of it! I have plenty of lighter pieces too). And I’m grateful for the opportunities to work through and learn from these times, and to be able to distill this experiences into something useful.
Anyways, that’s my saying for the day, part of my 40 until 40. Have a great day!
